People are laughing and it feels good
I have completed not just one of my New Year's Resolutions for 2007, but something I have wanted to do for many years. And since I have a habit of not following through on these silly little ideas, it feels really good to finally "Get off the bench and onto the court" as David Stein would say.
I busted my butt all last week to make sure I had the set down. I would not, under any circumstances, fail because I wasn't prepared. So I prepared. I wrote and re-wrote. I rehearsed over and over again. And then at about 7:30 in the PM Saturday, Eric introduced me. If I had to estimate, and I don't but will anyway, there were about 40 people in attendance. I got up there, I told my jokes, and people laughed. Except they didn't much care for the sleepwalkers joke. That one is funny though, I promise.
Apparently I'm funny. I mean, I know I can be funny. But apparently I can tell jokes. I can make people laugh.
And now I have something else I want to do that probably will never ever make me any money. Tremendous.
